Featured Member of the New Year is Aaron L. Tookes Ph.Ed of the Atlanta Public School System. Dr. Tookes was my vision teacher and mentor from the 10th to the 12th grade. He was instrumental in me becoming the person that I am and encourged his students with his example. We watched him work full time and earn his Masters Degree and later on his Doctorates in Education Administration.
He went from being a Vision Resource Instructor to a Principal. In doing so was able to earn well over 116K per year with his additional education in his 30+ year career. He has inspired my sister and I to be the best we can be. Being a person with albinism he laid a path for us to follow. I am now embarking on my 3rd year in a commercial office as a business owner in graphic design Cre8tive Media Design Firm and my sister is working on her first and second novel as an author VaRae
We walk in his footsteps to lead by example and are exceptionally appreciative for Dr.Tookes wisdom and ability to share his experience with us. He was instrumental in encouraging many of his students and parents of children with albinism. We solute him and thank him being a excellent example for the next generation.
